Your Moving Questions, Answered

Everything you need to know before hiring a mover — from pricing and timing to packing and protection.

What is the best way to get an accurate moving quote?

The most accurate quote comes from an in-home or video survey where we can see exactly what needs to be moved. We offer free on-site estimates, and you’ll receive a written price breakdown before any work begins.

Do I need to be present during the entire move?

It’s best if someone is available to answer questions and confirm which items go where. However, many customers arrange for a friend or family member to supervise if they cannot be there themselves.

How do you handle moves in buildings without elevators?

Our crews are experienced with walk-up apartments and buildings with narrow staircases. We charge a small additional fee for flights of stairs beyond the ground floor — this is disclosed upfront in your estimate.

Can you move items from a storage unit?

Absolutely. We can pick up from any storage facility, load everything onto our truck, and deliver directly to your new home or office. Just provide the unit size and access details when booking.

What happens if my new home isn't ready on moving day?

No problem. We offer temporary storage at secure, climate-controlled facilities. Your belongings stay on our truck or in a storage unit until your new space is ready for delivery.

Do you move oversized items like hot tubs or grand pianos?

Yes, but these require special planning. Let us know about any oversized or unusually heavy items when you book so we can send the right crew with the correct equipment.

How do you protect my floors and doorways during the move?

We use heavy-duty floor runners, corner guards, and door jamb protectors at every property. Our crews also wear shoe covers to prevent tracking dirt or debris inside.

Can I add or remove items from my inventory after booking?

Yes, but please notify us as early as possible. Adding large items may require a larger truck or extra crew time. Removing items is usually fine and may lower your final cost.

What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

We ask for at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or date changes. Last-minute cancellations may incur a small fee to cover crew scheduling and truck reservation costs.

Do you move plants or perishable food?

We do not transport live plants or perishable food due to temperature and handling concerns. However, we can move sealed, non-perishable pantry items like canned goods and dry pasta.

How do you handle parking and moving permits?

We help coordinate permit requirements, but the responsibility for obtaining them usually falls to the customer. Our team will tell you exactly which permits your city requires and where to apply.

Can you move my vehicle or motorcycle?

Yes. We offer vehicle transport services for cars, motorcycles, and small boats. This is typically arranged as a separate service from your household move, so let us know when you book.

What time of year is cheapest to move?

Late fall through early spring (October through April) generally offers lower rates and more flexible scheduling. Summer months and weekends are the busiest and most expensive.

Do you provide moving boxes and packing supplies?

Yes. We sell high-quality moving boxes, bubble wrap, packing paper, and tape at competitive prices. You can order everything you need when you book, and we’ll deliver the supplies a few days before your move.

How do you handle fragile or sentimental items like wedding dresses or photo albums?

We recommend transporting irreplaceable sentimental items yourself. For fragile items you want us to move, we use extra bubble wrap, custom crating, and hand-carry them onto the truck separately.

What if my elevator is broken on moving day?

If an elevator is out of service and stairs are required, we will discuss options with you immediately. Depending on the floor and item volume, we may need to reschedule or adjust the crew size.

Do you offer discounts for seniors, students, or military members?

Yes. We provide discounts for seniors (65+), full-time students, and active-duty military personnel with valid ID. Ask your coordinator about current rates when you request a quote.

How far in advance should I book a long-distance move?

We recommend booking long-distance moves at least 3-4 weeks ahead, especially if you need specific delivery dates. During summer, 6-8 weeks is safer to lock in your preferred schedule.

What happens if my belongings arrive damaged?

We document everything before loading and after unloading. If damage occurs, report it within 48 hours with photos. We’ll open a claim immediately, and most claims are resolved within 7-10 business days.

Can you help me unpack after the move?

Absolutely. We offer full unpacking services where our crew will remove all packing materials, place items in your cabinets and closets, and haul away the empty boxes and wrapping for recycling.
